Century Center

Baltisse and QRF undertook the challenge of redeveloping a historic complex that once served as a hotel, cinema and shopping gallery. In Belgium it’s also known as the Century Center Shopping in the Pelikaanstraat and De Keyserlei.

After the renovation, the building meets today's standards. The site was completely transformed into a hotspot for comfortable living and working.

The old complex got an attractive facade on each of the 3 sides. It consists of a mix of office spaces with retail on the lower floors. The new total project comprises approximately 10,000m² retail space, 22,000m² office space, and 8,000m² of parking. The total project was spread over four separate subprojects with their own identity and architecture: Pelican, Novo, Deco, and Arto.
