The former Sint-Jozef Clinic was built in three phases, with the oldest section dating back to 1910. In 1925, the chapel was added, which was listed as a protected monument in 2004. Over the years, several renovation works were carried out. In 1996, the Hotel and Tourism School Spermalie took over the building, using it as a boarding school under the name "Residentie De Veste."

The site will be transformed into a new space where contemporary living and historical heritage blend seamlessly. It will offer a mix of different housing types and facilities, providing living solutions for both young and old.
